Stray Dog Gets Stabbed Saving Woman And Then…

In this story, a dog displays unexpected loyalty and saves a woman in trouble only to be stabbed five times. The dog was a stray pit bull and there’s an amazing ending you have to read. Too many dogs are abandoned, in kennels or up for adoption. Throughout this touching story of the hero pit bull are images of dogs in need of homes. Consider adopting one before supporting puppy mills with certain pet stores purchases. In July, 2016, a stray dog was wandering the streets of Baldwin, Georgia. He saw a woman he recognized. She was fighting a man in the street! The dog moved closer.

The male attacker pulled out a knife. The dog, a pit bull, sprang into action. He jumped on the man who shifted his attention from the woman…and onto the dog.

The woman got away, but before the pit bull could sink its fangs into the attacker, the thug cut and slashed the hero dog five times before fleeing, leaving the dog to die.

When the police arrived, they learned what happened. They scooped up the dog, put him in their car and drove him to a vet who was willing to see the 75-pound dog after business hours.

The pit bull was not in good shape. He lost so much blood, his gums were white and he collapsed several times.

The vet performed surgery right away. The poor dog died twice on the table — but he kept coming back. The police officers named the dog Hero and stayed by his side throughout the surgery. The officers were Timothy Clay and Daniel Seeley.

“For those two officers to go to the extent they did to save him is very heroic and very awesome,” said Carla Welch, founder and director of Fighting for the Bullys Pit Bull Rescue in Tennessee.

After Hero survived the surgery, Welch raised enough money to help pay for his medical bills. The very kind and thoughtful veterinarian discounted the cost of surgery significantly.

Now Hero needed a home. Welch was on the case. She said that Hero was a well-known stray in Baldwin, but he had a microchip in him. That made it probable that he was once a pet.

Welch also said, “Most pit bulls are really protective. They can sense danger and when someone gets loud, it perks their attention.” In Hero’s case, he knew the victim and saw she was in danger.

Hero’s heroics got the attention of Sara and David Simpson of Tennessee. They adopted him. The courageous dog is getting along fine and even has two canine friends now. A happy ending for a heroic stray dog.
